SCLCR toolholders come in various models defined by a standardized coding system. Understanding this code is key to selecting the correct one for your machine and application:
1.Shank Dimensions: Codes like 1010 or 123 indicate the shank's height and width (e.g., 10mm x 10mm).
2.Cutting Insert: The model specifies the compatible insert shape and size (e.g., CC.. 09T3 for a rhomboid-shaped insert).
3.Size & Reach: The overall length and "gauge length" (projection from the holder) determine the maximum bore depth and minimum bore diameter you can machine.
SCLCR toolholders differ from previously discussed products:
vs. FMB Face Mill Arbor: The FMB arbor is designed to hold and drive large face milling cutters for machining surfaces, while the SCLCR is a boring bar for internal hole machining.
vs. General Turning Toolholders: Unlike external turning holders, the SCLCR is elongated to reach inside pre-drilled holes, and its shock-resistant design specifically counters the increased vibration in such confined operations.
